The method involves making volume areas at an examination point depending on partitioning of visual object areas in volume units of different sizes, where the examination point lies in front of a video screen plane of a video screen-client (104). The volume units of different sizes are abated in the direction of the examination point in a defined way. The volume areas are formed at the examination point in a location variant detailed gradient as volume units of partitioned, viewer-distant volume areas. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a client/server-based image storage-, image retrieval- and image rendering system fro storing, retrieving and graphically visualizing multi-dimensional compressed graphical data (2) a computer software-program product for executing a method for recalling and graphically visualizing a multi-dimensional compressed graphical data.
