Sheet brake has a brake body (12) with axis of rotation (14). The brake body with axis of rotation or respective to the axis of rotation has non-rotational symmetrical outer contour. The brake body and a clamping wheel (11) with axis of rotation are paired together with one another in such a manner that the sheet (2) is jammed between them when braking. An independent claim is also included for the printing machine.
