The cover has a rigid cover profile (7) provided for covering a guide rail (1) of a linear guide, and a guiding part (6) movable through a guiding carriage (2) of the linear guide. The guiding part has a continuous guiding channel (8) for feed through of the cover profile. The profile (7) is formed as sheet metal-bending part with an upper cover surface and downwardly bending side surfaces. The guiding part completely surrounds the cover profile in a circumferential direction, where the cover profile is made from brass or copper. An independent claim is also included for a linear guide comprising a guiding part.
