The wheelchair has a foldable and removable top (1) with upper and lower parts and a protective covering (4) overlapping the upper and lower parts. The parts are connected with one another in a form-fit and friction manner by a detachable fastener, and the lower part (2) can be attached to a base frame (6) or chassis (25) and at a tilting aid of the wheelchair. A bow less flap construction is arranged at the upper part, and the lower part is formed as a molded rigid component. The protective covering is formed with plastic plates (5) on its side and rear parts.
