A reflective transfer (2) is applied to a substrate substance e.g. fabric (1). The transfer has an optional intermediate layer of color and a reflective color (3) with numerous reflective particles (4) standing proud of the reflective color (3). The transfer is applied to a substrate (1) to which the transfer is then applied and dried.
