The method for producing a middle layer of a parquet floor, in particular, for prefabricated parquet floor units involves fixing of distance elements to the top surface of a wooden board of appropriate dimensions, division of the board through vertical sawcuts into longitudinal strips, rotation of the strips through a right angle about their longitudinal axes, and glueing of the strips (separated from one another by the distance elements) to the parquet cover layer. Also claimed is an apparatus for implementation of the method. It comprises means for applying distance elements to the top surface of the wooden board.
