Filter (1) comprises a filter boiler (2) with a non-filtrate chamber (3) with an inlet distributor (4) having outlet openings (5) in its lower region. The distributor is structured so that the active number and/or cross-section of the outlet openings can be varied from outside of the filter boiler. An independent claim is also included for a process for controlling the flow within the filter.
