The material to form a splint around a limb, and especially around the tibia, is composed of a core (2) as a cotton fabric impregnated with a resin which can be shaped by heat at a temperature of 60-70[deg]C. The outer surfaces are covered by a non-stick copolymer film (3) to prevent adhesion to the skin, by immersion in a bath. The material is fitted with tabs to lock the splint around the limb.
