The device has a support-chassis with two longitudinal arms (2, 3) that extend in the longitudinal direction of a snowmobile and are placed on both sides of a track. The arms (2, 3) respectively support articulations (4, 5) around which brake spades (9, 10) are pivoted. The spades (9, 10) are respectively driven by electric, pneumatic, mechanical or hydraulic type actuators (11, 12). The arms are integrated through connection units placed outside the perimeter delimited by the track of the snowmobile. An independent claim is also included for a snowmobile type motorized snow vehicle.
