Process for the manufacture of fullerene solutions comprises treating an aerosol comprising finely divided carbon by a plasmagen arc under helium at greater than 4000[deg], under a pressure of 20-40 kPa, where the reaction suspension is brought back by a solvent in a convergent divergent nozzle, which is used as helium flow motor in closed circulation and a generator of the required low reaction pressure.
