The system, included in the mechanism of at least one control pedal (12) fitted so it slides relative to the vehicle floor (11) and comprising at least one reversible energy absorber (14) actuated when the pedal is at the end of its travel, incorporates a non-reversible energy absorber (16). The latter is activated when the pedal (12) is at the end of its travel with the reversible energy absorber and receives an additional force. The reversible energy absorber comprises an elastomer block, while the non-reversible one consists of at least one corrugated metal strip (32, 34) fixed to the floor.
