The device has controlled confinement chambers (3) having an air space (13) which surrounds a drink container (5) containing a food product e.g. drink. Cryogen units of the chambers cooperate with the air space for reducing temperature at the level of the space in an extemporaneous and instantaneous manner. The cryogen units are constituted of a button (9) permitting to release liquid gas e.g. nitrogen, at the level of the air space and a controlled valve (11) permitting to exhaust the gas towards outside the device.
