Process to obtain cardiac cells, comprises selecting cardiomyogenic cells from raw stromal vascular fraction (SVF), culturing the cells in an optimized liquid medium for the ex vivo expansion of the cells, maintaining and expanding the cells by successive passage in liquid medium and obtaining the cardiac cells. An independent claim is included for a composition comprising: adherent contractile cardiomyogenic cells in elongated form such as CD31 -, CD38 +, CD44 +, CD45 -, CD73 +, CD81 +, MLC2v +, Ckit -, CMH2 -, where approximately 50% of the cells being Sca-1 + and troponin T +; and non-adherent cells in round form such as CD31 -, CD38 -, CD44 +, CD45 -, CD73 -, CD81 +, CMH1 -, where approximately 50% of the cells being Sca-1 +, troponin T + and MLC2v +, two types of cells further expressing the mesodermic factor of transcription Brachury, the transcription factors islet-1 and MEF-2c and the binding transcriptional factor Oct3/4 and an excipient. ACTIVITY : Cardiant; Vasotropic. The ability of the cardiac cell to reconstitute ischemic cardiac zone was tested in mouse using biological assays. The results showed that after 7 days of treatment the ischemic zone was regenerated, which was analyzed using green fluorescent protein specific marker. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
