Procedure for attaching a plant support to a pot uses support in form of plastic mesh cone with lower edge that engages with plant pot dropped into it

The procedure, which can be automated using a turntable (10) between feed (16) and output (18) conveyors, consists of dropping the plants (3) in their pots (2) into mesh cones (1) of plastic that have lower edges (7) shaped to engage with the pot rims (5). Each cone can be located in a hole in the turntable, and the potted plant dropped into it is supported by a pusher beneath the table which lifts the assembly so it can be pushed onto the output conveyor. A variant of the procedure uses cones made up from mesh cut from a roll, fitted to each pot and welded as the pot stops between two conveyors.
