The method involves incrementing a counter if a difference between a supercharging pressure measurement and a supercharging threshold is greater than a preset threshold value. A correction of supercharging pressure regulation is implemented on a condition that a control of an actuator e.g. turbocompressor`s turbine, having a supercharging pressure influence is in a preset coherent state taking into account measured pressure, if the difference is greater than the threshold value. The counter is decremented and a flag variable is initialized to zero if the difference is less than the value. An independent claim is also included for an engine.
