The method involves measuring supercharging pressure of high pressure turbine of heat engine (1), and estimating the supercharging pressure. A diagnostic criterion is calculated from the measurement and estimation of the supercharging pressure, where the criterion includes parameters such as turbine pressure of turbocharger e.g. high pressure turbocharger (3), constants, the measured supercharging pressure and the estimated supercharging pressure. The criterion is compared with threshold, and a supercharging device (100) is declared as failure when the criterion exceeds the threshold. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a data medium comprising software units for implementing a method for diagnosing a state of supercharging device of turbocharger of heat engine (2) a device for diagnosing a state of supercharging device of turbocharger of heat engine of motor vehicle, comprising hardware and software units.
