The apparatus has an inductor (23) for generating an electromagnetic field, and an upper grid plate (5) for heating under the influence of the field. The plate has an upper surface on which a cartography is installed. A temperature sensor (49) is interposed between the inductor and the plate, and is in contact with a lower surface of the plate to measure the temperature of the plate. An electronic power cord (51) controls power and frequency delivered to the inductor according to the measurements by the sensor, where the cartography establishes relation between the power and temperature.
