The seat has a removable cover (30) covering a support surface of cushioning (12) of a base (10) and/or a backrest (20). The cover is connected by its periphery on the cushioning by a slide fastener (15). The cover includes a padding (31) arranged for resting on predetermined zones of the cushioning. The padding is situated on lateral edges of the cover. A fixed cover (13) covers the cushioning, and is made of a material with sufficient resistance to be used as a liner for the base of the seat. An independent claim is also included for a cover for a seat of a motor vehicle, comprising a slide fastener.
