ANTIOXIDANT COMPRISING CHALCONE GLYCOSIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antioxidant excellent in radical-eliminating action and lipid peroxidation-suppressing action, and to provide an external preparation containing the antioxidant.;SOLUTION: The antioxidant comprising a chalcone glycoside and/or chalcone glycoside-containing extracts as an active ingredient and the external preparation containing the antioxidant are provided. As the chalcone glycoside-containing extracts, extracts of at least one plant selected from Cosmos plants, Dahlia plants and Chrysanthemum plants belonging to Compositae family, especially of Cosmos sulphureus Cav. are preferable. The chalcone glycoside as an antioxidant active material contained in the plants is coreopsin.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
