PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a minute droplet application device capable of controlling accurately a force for pressing a droplet application tool such as a needle or a pin onto a substrate surface which is an application object, and applying droplets even onto the substrate surface such as a paper.;SOLUTION: In this minute droplet application device 1, chemical liquid 14 to be applied is allowed to adhere to the tip of a pin 13 of each pin actuator 10, and the tip part 13b of the pin 13 is pressed onto the surface 4a of a substrate which is a droplet application object by driving an ultrasonic motor 12, to thereby allow the chemical liquid to adhere onto the substrate surface 4a. After the pin 13 touches the substrate surface 4a, slide is generated between a diaphragm 22 of the ultrasonic motor 12 in the driving state and a linear driving rod 21, and a pressing force of the pin 13 onto the substrate surface 4a is kept constant. The pressing force can be controlled at a desired value without heightening positioning accuracy of the pin 13 by adjusting beforehand a frictional engaging force of a frictional driving part of the ultrasonic motor 12.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
