EXTENDED MAINTENANCE DOMAIN LEVEL MANAGEMENT METHOD, COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, PROGRAM, AND DATA STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance domain level management method, layer-2 network apparatus, program, and data structure using an Ethernet(R) OAM (Operation Administration and Maintenance) frame such that operation maintenance and administration can be performed by a number of maintenance domains within a network.;SOLUTION: A first layer-2 network apparatus further adds an Outer OAM header to an Ethernet(R) OAM frame to be transmitted to a second layer-2 network apparatus via a network and transmits the frame. On the other hand, a network connected communication device performs operation maintenance and administration on the basis of a maintenance domain level included in the Outer OAM header. Regarding the OAM frame received from the first layer-2 network apparatus, the second layer-2 network apparatus then removes the Outer OAM header from the frame and transmits the frame.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
