PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for coping with a jellyfish attack in a power plant that can ensure power generation and the supply of steam by coping with jellyfish early at the attack of jellyfish to the power plant having a plurality of power generation systems. PSOLUTION: The device for coping with the jellyfish attack in the power plant comprises a jellyfish attack detecting means 40; a jellyfish dispersion start determining means 41 for determining whether it is necessary to disperse attacking jellyfish based on information from the jellyfish attack detecting means 40; a water gun 2 for dispersing the attacking jellyfish to the cooling water intake passage side of the power generation systems other than the specific power generation system out of the plurality of power generation systems based on information from the jellyfish dispersion start determining means 41; and a cooling water flow control means 42 preferentially reducing the suction flow of cooling water by a circulating pump in the specific power generation system based on the information from the jellyfish dispersion start determining means 41.
