PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray residual stress measuring method of castings capable of obtaining a residual stress value with high reliability, in methods for measuring a residual stress by irradiating a casting with an X-ray.;SOLUTION: This residual stress measuring is provided with a fining shot handling process of fining coarse crystal grains in the surface layer part 2 of a casting 1, and a next artificial aging treatment process of removing the residual stress generated at the fining shot handling process so as to measure the residual stress with irradiating the surface layer part 2 of the casting with the X-ray. According to this method, the dendrite structure of the casting 1 composed of coarse crystal grains can be fined at the surface layer part 2, so that an X-ray diffraction phenomenon can be well generated to stably obtain the correct residual stress.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
