PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems, in a spontaneous light display device, that in the case of the conventional method, there is a need for continuously monitoring the deterioration state of each pixel, and when a screen size is upsized, the amount of operations and scale are upsized.;SOLUTION: The image persistence suppression device comprises (a) an average gray scale value calculation section which calculates the average gray scale value of the video signal inputted in a unit frame or between a plurality of the frames, (b) the gay scale difference calculation section which calculates the two average gray scale values calculated relating to the two calculation periods set so as to avoid superposition of the calculation periods, and (c) a contrast controller which reduces the contrast difference on a display screen when the differential value is smaller than a determined threshold.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
