PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply system for supplying output power to a fluctuating load at an optimum conversion efficiency by power supply units of N+M redundancy configuration, a power supply unit therefor, and a method for enhancing efficiency of power supply.;SOLUTION: A power supply control part 4 where conversion efficiency information in load fluctuations of the power supply unit 3 is preliminarily registered, monitors and records this information and an actual power consumption of the load 5, selects a combination of power supply units 3 which can provide the highest conversion efficiency, based on information for the power consumption per unit which is obtained by dividing the actual power consumption by the number of units in change of the redundancy configuration of power supply unit to N+M, N+M-1 to N+1, and controls the ON/OFF of the power supply units 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
