YEAST PRESENTING LIPASE B DERIVED FROM CANDIDA ANTARCTICA ON CELL SURFACE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable and inexpensive lipase B from Candia antarctica (CaLB) having high activity as a lipase which is a catalyst useful for decomposition reaction of ester bond, ester synthesis reaction, transesterification, asymmetric synthesis or the like of various chiral compounds. PSOLUTION: The yeast presents CaLB on a cell surface and expresses lipase activity. The CaLB presented by the yeast comprises a polypeptide composed of an amino acid sequence ranging from an alanine residue in 7th position of a specific base sequence to a proline residue in 317th position or a polypeptide in which an amino acid in a specific part of the amino acid sequence is substituted. The cell surface layer CaLB of the yeast has heat stability and high lipase activity. A method for producing the lactate from lactic acid and an alcohol by using the above yeast is also provided.
