PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object recognition device which sufficiently robustly recognizes an object even in a general scene.;SOLUTION: A target image recognizing part 20 stores an image picked up by a camera 21 in a frame memory 22, and an edge image generating part 23 generates an edge image on the basis of the image stored in the frame memory 22. A target feature extracting part 24 extracts a local feature on the basis of edge points. Finally, a matching part 25 compares the feature extracted by the target feature extracting part 25 with the feature of a model already registered in a model dictionary 15 to thereby acquire a matching pair of the model and a target and identifies an object in a target image on the basis of matching pairs acquired by an object identifying part 26.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
