PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer face coating composition for a 3P (three-piece) metal can forming a foamed clear coating film that has performances of retort resistance and resistance to a steam treatment in a state immersed in hot water and exhibits excellent convex and concave designability, and a 3P metal can having a dry coating film layer of the coating composition. PSOLUTION: The coating composition for an outer face of a 3P metal can comprises a polyester resin (A) having a hydroxyl value of the solid content of 5-15, an acid value of the solid content of less than 2 and a number-average molecular weight of 10,000-12,000 and being free from a raw material derived from bisphenol, a butyl etherified benzoguanamine resin (B) having a number-average molecular weight of 800-900 and being free from a raw material derived from bisphenol and a resin filler (C) containing a thermally expandable liquid gas in an amount of 0.02-1.5 pts.mass in terms of the solid content.
