PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrolyzing method by which the hydrolysis of a polyvinyl ether-based block copolymer is carried out in high reaction rate at high reactivity.;SOLUTION: The method for hydrolyzing the polyvinyl ether-based block copolymer involves hydrolyzing the block copolymer by using a hydrolyzing solvent satisfying the relation of B≤1/2A≤C [formula (1)] (wherein, A is the difference between the solubility parameter of a hydrophobic segment of the block copolymer and the solubility parameter of a segment having a carboxylic acid ester group; B is the difference between the solubility parameter of the hydrolyzing solvent and the solubility parameter of the segment having the carboxylic acid ester group; C is the difference between the solubility parameter of the hydrolyzing solvent and the solubility parameter of the hydrophobic segment; with the proviso that A≠0 and A, B and C are represented by absolute values).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
