PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regional representative point acquisition apparatus which can appropriately acquire a regional representative point.;SOLUTION: A control section 102 in a main unit 10 of a car navigation apparatus 100 acquires road information in which a coordinate arrangement representing the shape of a road and the name of a region through which the road passes are brought into correspondence with each other and acquires, for a region designated by a user, a coordinate arrangement corresponding to the name of the region on the basis of the road information.
