PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which enables the output of a good image with no color shift by eliminating the color shift which is caused by the inclination of an aligner, that of a scanning line (CCD), etc, and a device.;SOLUTION: Image data for each color, which are to be formed as the image, are stored in an image data storage memory; the amount of the inclination of the formed image in the main scanning direction is detected; and the inclination is corrected based on detection results brought in an inclination detecting process. In that case, when the amount of the inclination, detected by the inclination detecting means, is a prescribed value or below, the inclination is corrected by operating an address written into the image data storage memory or an address read out from the image data storage memory. When the amount of the inclination is a prescribed value or above, both the address written into the image data storage memory and the address read out from the image data storage memory are corrected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
