PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for eliminating an offensive odor of a silane-crosslinked polyethylene pipe that can easily eliminate an odor peculiar to the silane-crosslinked polyethylene pipe and is harmless to the human body and to provide water and hot water supply pipes using the method.;SOLUTION: The method for eliminating an odor of a silane-crosslinked polyethylene pipe comprises filling a silane-crosslinked polyethylene pipe with oolong tea of ordinary temperature to reach its full state, and after left to stand for a certain period of time (for example, 10-24 hours), alternatively drawing the oolong tea off from the pipe or drawing the oolong tea off from the pipe and then allowing hot water to pass through the silane-crosslinked polyethylene pipe for a certain period of time (for example, 0.5-2 hours).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
