PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for preparing a molded article being covered with a functional thin film for imparting desired properties such as conductivity, insulating property and water repellence, and to provide a simple manufacturing method for a functional thin film coated resin molded article using the composition.;SOLUTION: This forming composition for the functional thin film for transfer which contains a functional material and a solvent or a dispersion medium is provided. By applying the composition on the surface of a die, a film containing the solvent or the dispersion medium is formed. Then, a resin is introduced to the die under a state in which the solvent or the dispersion medium is remaining on the film, and the molding is performed.
