PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining the presence/absence of damage by a tropical cyclone, a tropical cyclone damage prediction method, and a device for it, capable of determining the presence/absence of damage and predicting the scale of the damage more accurately. PSOLUTION: In a step S1, the characteristic of the presence/absence of the damage is extracted from known damage data and circumstance data. In a step S2, using the extracted characteristics, presence/absence of the damage by an unknown tropical cyclone is determined. When the steps S1 and S2 are executed by using pattern recognition, presence/absence of the damage by the tropical cyclone is determined. The damage by the tropical cyclone is predicted from a first step, in which a multiple regression model is constructed from the known damage data and circumstance data, and a second step, in which damage by the unknown tropical cyclone is predicted by using the constructed multiple regression model.
