PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality inspection device of vegetables and fruits unnecessary to provide a plurality of mirrors corresponding to the number of lift mechanisms or light sources even if the sizes of vegetables and fruits change, not scaled up to a necessary degree or above and low in manufacturing cost, and a quality inspection method of vegetables and fruits.;SOLUTION: The quality inspection device of vegetables and fruits is provided with a light source for laterally irradiating vegetables and fruits with measuring light, a slit member having a hole capable of permitting a part of the measuring light emitted from the light source to pass, a lens member for guiding the measuring light, which passes through the hole provided to the slit member, to the vegetables and fruits through at least a first lens and a light detection part for detecting the light transmitted through the vegetables and fruits.
