PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route proposing device for setting a rest point in a recommended route as much as possible in a range where one is not delayed for a determined arrival time, and to provide a route proposal program for functioning a computer as the route proposing device.;SOLUTION: A CPU 50a in a body 50 of a car navigation system executes a processing according to a setting change control module program 51 in a ROM 50I. In a setting change control processing, the CPU 50a searches the shortest route when the position information and arrival desired time of a destination are inputted after a route search button 71b on a menu screen 71 is pressed, extracts a rest point that matches conditions that are set in advance from a number of rest points existing on the shortest route, and displays a map, where the extracted rest point and the shortest route are displayed, on a touch panel device 40.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
