PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electro-optical device capable of securing discharge stability when a film is formed with a polymer-based material by an ink jet method, and of reducing the quantity of a used solvent; to provide an electro-optical device manufactured by the manufacturing method of an electro-optical device; to provide electronic equipment with the electro-optical device mounted; and to provide a droplet discharge device. PSOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of an electro-optical device having a film formation process for forming a film of a polymer-based material on a substrate by an ink jet method, the film of the polymer-based material is formed by printing a monomer 15a of a raw material of the polymer-based material and its polymerization initiator 15b on a substrate 100, and by executing a polymerization reaction on the substrate 100.
