PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-level measuring device for a tunnel boring machine, by which a quantity of lubricating oil to be sealed into a cutter head can be monitored by a simple constitution and the state of the lubrication of the sliding surface of an outbreak device can be confirmed. ;SOLUTION: A passage for measuring an oil level consisting of a hole 23 for passing lubricating oil in a center shaft 5, a piping 24 for measurement, which is connected at the front end of the hole 23 and in which an end section is bored in lubricating oil in an oil bath, and a U-shaped tube 26, which is joined at the rear end of the piping 2 through a rotary joint 25 and in which an end section is opened to atmospheric air while a lowermost point D is made sufficiently lower than the lubricating-oil surface of the oil bath and a rear is made sufficiently higher than the lubricating-oil surface in the oil bath, is mounted, and the place of the lubricating-oil surface in the cutter head 4, the quantity of lubricating oil, is visually observed by the place of the lubricating-oil surface in the U-shaped tube 26.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
