PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguishing between PVC bottle and PET bottle surely in safety through a simple mechanism. ;SOLUTION: A heating rod 11 heated up to a temperature higher than the melting point of polyvinyl chloride and lower than the melting point of polyethylene terephthalate is applied to a plastic bottle 13. A decision is made that the plastic bottle 13 is a PVC bottle if the heating rod 11 penetrates the wall body of the plastic bottle 13 before the pressing force of the heating rod 11 reaches a specified level otherwise a decision is made that the plastic bottle 13 is a PET bottle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
