PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counter for counting number of insects captured/killed by a pheromone trap from their total weight measured by a dial scale, capable of accurately determining the number, even when one or more of the captured insects are damaged, because essentially no error is involved in the total weight measured. ;SOLUTION: This counter counts number, of insects captured by a pheromone trap T, comprising a roof 1 supporting pheromone 2 thereunder, and a main body 3 covered by the roof 1 and containing funnels 4 and 7, a baffle 6 under the bottom opening of the funnel 4, automatic shutter 8 under the bottom opening of the funnel 7 to automatically open or shut the opening, container 9 under the shutter 8 to receive the captured insects, dial scale 10 to weigh the captured insects, and vibration-preventive table 11 to support the dial scale 10 wherein the captured insects are collected in the funnel 7 for a given measurement time determined by controlling a CPU controller 12, and then transferred down to the container 9 by opening the automatic shutter 8 after insect capturing time is over, where their total weight is measured by the dial scale 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
