PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a violaceous-laser-sensitive image forming material and a violaceous-laser-sensitive image forming medium having high sensitivity to violaceous laser light even in the case of a thick film, suitable for use particularly in direct pattern formation with a violaceous laser, and excellent in safelight under a yellow light, and to provide an image forming method using the image forming medium.;SOLUTION: The violaceous-laser-sensitive image forming material has a photosensitive layer containing (A) an ethylenically unsaturated compound, (B) a sensitizer and (C) a photopolymerization initiator on a temporary support film, wherein a sensitizer represented by formula (I) is contained as the sensitizer (B), the photopolymerization initiator (C) contains one or more selected from a hexaarylbiimidazole compound, a halogenated hydrocarbon derivative, an onium salt, a sulfone compound and an organic borate, and a thickness of the photosensitive layer is ≥5 μm.
