PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently searching an optimum optical path arrangement.;SOLUTION: The method is executed for searching an optimum optical path arrangement in an optical communication network provided with a plurality of node apparatuses and optical fibers interconnecting the node apparatuses adjacent to each other and through which wavelength multiplex signals are transmitted. The method obtains a logic topology comprising branches and nodes on the basis of an active optical path arrangement comprising a plurality of optical paths. The method generates an initial code group comprising a plurality of gene codes each of elements of which includes a node number provided to each node apparatus.
