PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the excessive peak of obstructive signal at the edge part of subject by weighting the strength value of source image with the value of inverse to a belonging sensitivity value. ;SOLUTION: The target value of strength process in the (x) direction of phantom Ph is shown by a real line and in that case, the obtained uncorrected process I is shown by a thick broken line. Then, a strength value In of each pixel (n) from left to right in the (x) direction is compared with a strength In-1 of preceding pixel n-1. When an expression In-In-1ΔImax is established, the strength value In is replaced with I'n and in that case, an expression I'n= In-1-ΔImax is established. Further, low-pass filtering is performed to an auxiliary data set BD' by Fourier transformation. The sensitivity value belonging to that pixel is extracted by an auxiliary image, to which low-pass filtering is performed, and the strength value of source image is weighted by the value of inverse to the belonging sensitivity value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
