PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a large volume of refined husks useful as a filter auxiliary and increase the yield of malt by moistening the malt having the husks adhering thereto, subjecting the malt and husks to a pressurizing treatment between hard surfaces, effecting a first separation of the husks from the malt and subsequently subjecting the separated husks to an impact treatment in a second separation step. ;SOLUTION: This process for separating husks from malt comprises feeding malt having husks adhering thereto from a silo into a sieve 5 and a stone- removing device 6 through a weighing device 2 and a mixing device 3 to refine the malt, further feeding the refined malt into a net device 8 through a weighing device 7 to slightly moisten the malt, subjecting the malt to a pressurization treatment in a husk-separating mill 9 to separate the malt from the husks, guiding the separated malt into a silo 14 through a storage tank 13, feeding the husks into an impact mill 15 with an elevator 4b to remove residual malt adhered to the husks, and subsequently collecting the husks as a filter auxiliary into a storage tank 13'.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
