The invention relates to a method for centering an uncut single vision ophthalmic lens (1) having an initial contour (2) associated with a center point (CO) and provided for being cut according to a final contour (3) associated with a pupil point, comprising the following steps: superimposing the pupil point of the final contour on the center point of the uncut lens, and; relatively adjusting the final contour inside the initial contour of the uncut lens. The step for adjusting the final contour inside the initial contour involves an angular orientation relative to the initial contour with regard to the final contour around the center point according to an angular position of adjustment in order to prevent or reduce the amount by which the final contour exceeds the initial contour of the lens.
