COMPOSITION FOR INDUCING CELL MEMBRANE INJURY; COMPOSITION FOR INCREASING CELL MEMBRANE INJURY IN A LYMPHIDE CELL; Composition for allowing a cell; COMPOSITION TO INDUCE CELL MEMBRANE INJURY IN CELLS AND; COMPOSITION FOR INCREASING CELL MEMBRANE INJURY INDUCED BY A CELL MEMBRANE INJURY ANTIBODY; METHOD OF TREATMENT OF A MAMMALIAN SUFFERING FROM A CONDITION DISTINCTED BY CELL HYPERPROLIFERATION; METHOD FOR KILLING A CANCER CELL; METHOD FOR INDUCING CELL MEMBRANE INJURY IN A LYMPHID CELL IN A HUMAN PATIENT; METHOD FOR INDUCING CELL MEMBRANE INJURY; METHOD FOR PERMATING A CELL; METHOD OF PURGING BAL CELL BONE MARROW FROM A PATIENT WITH THIS NEED; CASE FOR DETERMINING THE DOSE LIMIT FOR A MULTI-PURPOSE AGENT INDUCING CELL MEMBRANE INJURY IN A MAMMER; CASE FOR DETERMINING THE DOSE LIMIT FOR A CELL MEMBRANE INJURY ANTIBODY IN A MAMMER; USE OF A MULTIPLE CELL MEMBRANE INJURY AGENT; AND USE OF A CELL MEMBRANE INJURY ANTIBODY. These are compositions and methods for inducing cell membrane injury, cell permeabilization and cell death. The composition comprises a polyvalent agent that binds to a highly expressed cell surface antigen present on the surface of a cell. Preferably, the cell surface antigen is associated with the cell cytoskeleton. A preferred polyvalent agent is an IgM, and improved cell injury and death may be provided by the addition of a crosslinking agent. At sublethal concentrations in vivo, cell wound antibodies permeabilize cells and markedly improve response to chemotherapeutic agents, even in patients who refuse to undergo chemotherapeutic agents.
