PROCESS FOR DESULFURIZING GAS OIL FRACTION, DESULFURIZED GAS OIL, AND APPARATUS FOR DESULFURIZING GAS OIL FRACTION

A method of desulfurizing a gas oil fraction which comprises: a step (I) in which a low-boiling gas oil fraction obtained by dividing the gas oil fraction into two parts at tºC (280 /= t /= 360 ((ºC)) is hydrogenated at an H2/oil ratio of from 70 to 200 Nm³/kl; a step (II) in which the high-boiling gas oil fraction is hydrogenated at an H2/oil ratio of from 200 to 800 Nm³/kl; and a step (III) in which the oils which have been treated in the steps (I) and (II) are blended together, characterized in that at least part of the gas containing un reacted hydrogen and resulting from the step (II) is used in the hydrogenation step (I). By the desulfurization method, hydrogen gas and energy can be effectively utilized.
