The orthodontic bracket (1) of twin type involves a method for the retention of a curved thread or wire (3) in a groove (2) in the bracket to such a depth that when the thread or wire is accommodated in the groove and is held there, the thread or wire has space to allow it to move with minimal friction. The depth of the groove is greater than the thickness of the thread or wire. The orthodontic bracket is provided with two wings (6) and a deepened part (7) for receipt of the appropriately formed component (5). The deepened part is a groove situated over the entire length of the side of the wings turned away from the base (8) of the orthodontic bracket. The deepened part runs parallel with a through passage (4).
