The method involves clamping a rear wall (3) of a plate holder (1) between a head of a bolt (2) and a vehicle. Supports i.e. brackets (4, 5), of the plate holder are provided in the form of cups having a through opening having a size for receiving the bolt for clamping the brackets between the plate holder and the head of the bolt. An adhesive plate including number or letter is connected to the vehicle through a side adhesive surface of the brackets, where the plate includes a two-component adhesive such as Tecbond MA300/3l0 adhesive. An independent claim is also included for a support comprising a base with a through hole.
