METHOD FOR ASSESSING SUITABILITY OF INTESTINE FOR APPLYING ANASTOMOSIS IN SURGICAL TREATMENT OF ATRESIA OF JEJUNUM AND ILEUM IN NEWBORNS

A method for assessing the suitability of the intestine for applying anastomosis in the surgical treatment of the atresia of jejunum and ileum in the newborns comprises the examination of the visually intact areas of the intestine adjacent to the pathologically altered pre- and postatretic segments. The projections of the jejunal or iliac arteries located most closely to pre- and postatretic segments are marked. The areas of the intestine outside these marks are regarded as being suitable for applying anastomosis.
